Is there documentation on how to link the driver in the DTS file?

In the previous SDK, I needed the following nodes in my DTS file:

wilink8_pcm: wilink8_pcm {

Are you saying the node:

	btwilink {
		compatible = "btwilink";
	};

replaces both of the nodes above in the new SDK?

Hi , I believe compatible should be on the lines of " "ti,wl1835";" unless driver code was changed

I believe we are talking about two different things. Yes, there are wl18xx drivers that are included in the kernel by default. But there is an extra driver that is needed for the PCM audio. I was given a file called wilink8-bt.c, and I needed to add it to the kernel in the previous SDK. However, the wilink8-bt.c file is no longer compatible with the new kernel. Does TI have an updated file?

I figured out how to modify the driver to make it compile. But I have a follow-up question: In order to add the driver to the kernel build, I have to add the line "CONFIG_SND_SOC_WILINK8_BT=m" to the defconfig file. But the defconfig file says that it shouldn't be edited - so is there a better way to go about doing this?

You may modify kernel defconfig file - make sure the changes are reflected in .config file and that the kernel is meeting your requirements.
