CC8520: How to test CC8520 sensitivity

Part Number: CC8520

Dears:

Use PurePath Wireless Commander to test the sensitivity of CC8520. Are there any guidance documents? Why can't we test the sensitivity of -87dBm in the CC8520 datasheet?

  • Haiwen,

You can read more about production tests in the PPW Commander "Help" menu. The help menu also contains information about to customize the Production test you want to run in the section "Production Test Command Reference."

Note that some tests might require specific aliases for the DUT and TESTER. Automatic tests may require to program the tester. It is also recommended that you use an RF Cable for testing.

  • Hi, I am the person who asked this question. I have read the help file for several times, and each time the bit error rate was tested, only -53dBm could be tested. I would like to know how the sensitivity of -86dBm was tested in the specification book. Our TX and RX test distances can be up to 100 meters.

  • Hi,

Have you tried using the Simple RD RX test? (prod_test_simplerf_rx.ppwptc)? You can also use the simpleRfTest() and pass in the values you want.

Also, the RX/TX test provided in the PPW Commander should work for doing RX tests (Tester as TX, DUT as RX). The RX/TX test can plot down to -90dBm.

    Daniel

  • Hi daniel

Prod_test_simplerf_rx PPWPTC, I began to have been used to test the RSSI values, found behind this program can only test the RSSI, and found that the test is not very accurate, because I use the agilent E4432B when the signal source, launch - 45 DBM signal, modulation, without PPWC interface display receive field intensity of - 23 DBM, so I think I don't have hardware problem, we test the distance is 100 meters. So I wanted to test the bit error rate later, and then I used prod_test_per_auto.ppwptc. When the signal received from the antenna port of RX was -53dBm, the bit error rate of RX was 0.1%.What I want to know is how to test the signal received from the RX antenna port is -86dBm. When the bit error rate of RX is only 0.1%, how can I test this value?
