TI,
We are looking at DASH7 but was curious if you are embedding the licensing for this inside your microcontrollers and what particular solution that embeds the DASH7 protocol along with the radio would you recommend?

Hi,
Currently we do not offer any MCU or RF SoC with DASH7 software stack built in.
I would recommend that you would have a look at the OpenTag project. Have a look at http://www.dash7.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=130&Itemid=193 and http://sourceforge.net/projects/opentag/
CC430 is a mature platform that runs OpenTag nicely.

What exactly do you mean by 'status'?
The DASH7 Alliance has recently developed a new specification "mode 2" with better networking support, optimized for low latency, multi channel, multicast support, compact stack. They provide it open source via the OpenTag project.

Sorry for the ambiguous question.
I'm a noob in DASH7 so please forgive me if my questions are somehow weird ;) I mean... has it been already released? The last time I tried to get some info from the DASH7 website, I could not download a single doc. All the links were broken. Also, is there a hardware plattform where it can be tested or a SDK? Thanks a lot.
No worries! This is a forum, it is here for all type of questions.
Have a look at http://sourceforge.net/projects/opentag/
The mode 2 specification is released, but I'm not 100% sure that the OpenTag project is in sync. However you would still able to download the OpenTag and run it on the CC430 development board (e.g. EM430F5137RF900).

Hi,
I thought DASH7 worked at 433MHz... furthermore, the opentag project last new was in 2009. The TI kit you have shown me works at 868/915MHz, so I do not understand the overall relationship and I do not know if DASH7 is going to be released, since I do not know any products implementing it and 2009 is quite "old" :)
Can you help me clarifying this ideas?
Thanks.
Yes DASH7 is 433MHz, and you are correct the TI kit is for 868/915MHz. However it could still be used for DASH7 development, but with limited RF functionality of course.
The latest news for the OpenTag project was just recently in 2011. Have a look at http://sourceforge.net/projects/opentag/
Also see the master developers wiki at: http://www.indigresso.com/wiki/doku.php?id=opentag:main for more detailed information both about mode2 and OpenTag.

Hi,
Glad to hear! The verify button is there...
Let us know if you have any other questions!

Jonas,
We would like to build a Prototype /PoC in RTLS using DASH 7. I am looking for technical team members who are experts in DASH 7. Can you or any of your contacts can support us with PoC.
I am reachable at enareshy@gmail.com
