TMS37157 Wake Up Receiver

Hi,
I want to use TMS37157 as a wake up receiver like AMS AS3933.
Below are some question

1) In battery operated mode, Does TMS37157 need energy transfer from RF?
2) What is minimum value of receiver sensitivity?
3) In Power down mode, Is TMS37157 able to detect wake up signal ?

see slides 9-12 to start out with - but as the AMS device is a 3D wake receiver, perhaps this is not a direct cross with the TMS37157

Hi Josh,
I've read the link you gave to me, but I didn't see about LF receiver sensitivity.
If I am not mistaken, charge capacitor supply is provided by the battery,
and I assume the voltage at antenna doesn't have to 5 V as shown in swra284.pdf figure 2.
I need at least 10 meters for wake up signal.

so that was my point about using the TMS37F128 type of device.
it has many good features and options you can control to get a system that performs the way you want.
see the front page (and the rest of) of the datasheet from link above.

regarding the use of the TMS3705 by itself in this kind of application, 2meters is typical (see www.ti.com/.../scba031.pdf)

hence you also have the option to see the document here: www.ti.com/.../scbu052.pdf

and then drive (and deal with RX) from the RFM-007B with a simple MCU. this is more of embedded approach, and would require you to do more work than if you used the CTL -it depends on your cost targets and time allotted for your development and the skillset of your team on this project.

lastly you can also look at the TRF4140 as well, depending on your application.

Hi Leonardo Fabian ,

you will need a powerful transmission to wake-up a 125 kHz wake-up receiver from 10 meters away. I did some tests with AS3933 some time ago, and I got 6 meters with almost 1 A at the transmitter side. This can be solved by employing some clever tricks.

Please, check my article about wake-up receivers here. I use the AS3932 and get a range of 40 meters.
