TRF7963A: EVM Availability

Hello,

I need an evm to evaluate 200mW read capability in my application.

What EVM are available on short notice? I am planning on using the TRF7963A, but anything from the TRF796x family would work to verify this power level will work.

Hello Hattie,

the only available EVM is the DLP-7970ABP Booster Pack which is designed to operate together with a TI Launchpad:

With a modification it is possible to supply the Booster Pack with 5V to evaluate the 200mW:

This requires also to change the TRF790A register setting to 5V. The NFC GUI let you switch between 3V and 5V register setting. This GUI can be found in the NFC software package:

In addition an EXP430F5529 Launchpad is needed.

The TRF7970A has the same functionality as the TRF7964A but with additional Card Emulation functions and can be used for your evaluation.

Why does it need to be at 5V for the 200mW? Is the default 3V setting only 100mW?

Also we would like to connect our own coil design, is it possible to get a schematic for the board or information on which components are the matching components?
