TRF7970A: Queries regarding usage of TRF7970 with F28027(C2000 MCU) with examples

Hi,

We are planning to use TRF7970A for our NFC application with C2000 series F28027 MCU.

Requests:

1. So we request you to provide some example code for F28027 in a parallel mode communication interface instead of SPI.

Queries:

1. We want to operate in parallel mode, so is it possible to operate at 10Mhz clock by default?

2. How does the reading work in parallel mode? Please provide some information on how it works with some waveform captures if possible.

3. Since a byte is of 16 bits in C2000 MCUs, what are all the things to be taken care when porting the TRF7970A driver libraries?

1. I would not recommend the 10MHz by default. Because the maximum clock frequency depends on the physical board/ system design, it will work only under best case conditions (i.e. low capacitance on the I/O lines)

2. When addressing a register you have to set bit 6 to read according to table 6-11 in the datasheet. I have no timing diagrams available but will see if I can get one.

3. Because I don't have knowledge about the C2000 MCUs I cannot give you an advice. The C2000 is a 32bit MCU like the TM4C, so the example in the referenced thread is maybe helpful.
