CC1125: problems at low temperature

Part Number: CC1125

hi,

my customer is facing challenges w/ CC1125 at low temperature.

they have difficult to start/establish comm at -5...-15degC

any workaround?

thanks a lto in advance

  • Have they done a SCAL on this temperature?

  • sure, as always.

btw, is there a more detailed description of the registers XOSC5...XOSC0?

    thanks a lot in advance

  • XOSC5-0: Not other than what is covered in the register description provided in SmartRF Studio.

Could it be that the temperature dependency of the xtal causes issues?

For narrow band systems a too large frequency offset between the TX and RX devices could result in no link or a very poor link. The minimum required RX bandwidth to ensure reception is given by: RX BW = Signal Bandwidth + 4*ppm Crystal * RF Frequency of Operation  For FSK the signal bandwidth can be approximated as data rate + 2*frequency deviation (Carson’s rule).

Start by checking the center frequency for the RX and TX side to verify the RX BW is set large enough. For fast debug, also try to increase the RX BW one step.
