CC1175: Part availability in general

Genius 3985 points
Part Number: CC1175

Hi.

availabilty of electronics in general is a mess.

Availability of CC112x/7x is an even bigger mess.

Meanwhile I have a glasbowl and try to make forecasts up to 2023 and even beyond. According to it we try to get material - CC's are the worse part of it as we designed them into 80% of our parts and even the big distris don't give any firm & reliable delivery date - Mouser e.g. just postponed a an order from April this year with delivery date '3/2022' to '3/2023'.
I tried to catch up with our local TI rep some weeks ago, but he couldn't give me any help.
He suggested to put a request in TI webstore 'notify when available'. I guess putting it it at the black board in our supermarket next door would have had the same effect....

Concret: can anybody from TI tell me something more firm about the delivery situation? I thought TI has their own fabs and is not dependent on the big players.
How long will this last, what are you going to do for us smaller customers (yes, I don't have quantities more than 100k pcs. per year)?

thx

  • GGA,

Yes, it's a difficult situation for our industry. Even with us having both internal and external fabs for both wafers and assembly/tests we are unable to meet demand fully. We are making improvements to throughput continuously and are also bringing online significant new capacity like the Lehi Fab acquisition that just closed.

Short term, we're seeing improved availability in the TI store and are working hard to improve that further. The other avenue is working with your distributor to get your orders ranked up if possible.
