LAUNCHXL-CC1350: CC1350 Launchpad for MIOTY

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC1350
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MIOTY, CC1350, CC1310

I am using CC1350 Launchpad for my project along with Stackforce MIOTY stack API evaluvation for CC13x0 devices. But I am unable to add device in the MIOTY gateway. On further inspection, I saw MIOTY is supported on CC1310 and CC1352 family. Can anyone please help me confirm whether the issue is with my setuo or CC1350 along Stackforce stack cannot act as MIOTY end device?

  • All code for the CC1310 will also run on the CC1350. The only exception is if the stack code checks what device you have, and are only supporting CC1310. To know if this is the case, you should probably ask Stackforce.

  • Thanks for the answer.

There is no problem is building and debugging of code. ICode runs smoothly, but its not being able to be detected as a MIOTY device. I am wondering if CC1350 launchpad has any issues supporting MIOTY ? Because the TI website doesnt specify CC1350 in the list of devices for MIOTY.

However Stackforce code requires a CC13x0 device and I am guessing it should not be an issue from code point of view.

  • I have checked internally, and there are no reason that CC1350 should not support this from a HW point of view. The only difference between the two devices is that CC1350 also support 2.4 GHz. Have you verified that your CC1350 board is OK? Does it work as expected with SMartRF Studio and does the output power etc. look correct?

Again, if you have verified that your CC1350 is OK, you should check with Stackforce and ask if they have tested this with the CC1350

  • Yes, I checked with SmartRF Studio and it seems the board doesn't have any issue. I will check with Stackforce for further clarification. Thank you very much for the answer
