Porting Simpliciti Stack to Non-MSP430 processor

Greetings,

Since TI have done such a good job of abstracting away platform dependancies in BSP files for Simpliciti, has anyone ever attempted porting to another processor, say one of the Cortex M3 parts. We are looking at a product with a complex GUI, and the MSP430 would struggle to control the display, I would prefer to use a 32 bit processor, nothing looks worse to my eyes than a GUI that does not update crisply.

SimpliciTI has been ported to the Stellaris Cortex-M3 microcontrollers and is integrated in the latest version of StellarisWare software.

It also has been ported to the 8051 family of SoC Radios like CC2511 and the CC1111.

I realize that 8051s are not 32 but they also not MSP430s.

Excellent point, the 8051 is NOT a MSP430. If the stack has been ported to the 8051, it can probably be ported to anything. This is very encouraging, as it means that if we absolutely have to we can port the stack to another processor. Mind you, the Stellaris family is very capable of driving a QVGA screen with a complex GUI so we would not need to anyway.

Tom,

I am currently porting SimpliciTI to the ARM LPC2364, currently on the debugging phase.

If you know your target platform, it will be relatively straightforward.
If you know either source platforms (MSP430/8051) it'll be even simpler.

If you need any pointers, I would be happy to try to help, but it is definitely possible to port the code.
