CC1121: Use CC1120 instead of CC1121

Hi there,

Our company is struggling to source CC1121 radio chips at the moment, but we can source CC1120 radio chips..

My question is can the CC1120 and CC1121 be used interchangeably on the same circuit design without having to make component or layout changes?

Hi,

The difference between the CC1120 and CC1121 is that the RX bandwidth minimum for the CC1121 is 41kHz compared to 8kHz on the CC1120.

Additionally, double-check the regulatory compliance (othe first page of the datasheets) as the devices state different compliances:

The pinout on both devices is the same and they share the same reference designs; the CC1121 was characterised using CC1120 reference designs.

So, if these factors do not affect your application then you should be fine.
