LP-CC1352P7: wfanctl tool NumConnected shows nothing

Part Number: LP-CC1352P7

Hi,

I am evaluating LP-CC1352P7 eval boards, one is configured as BR and other is configured as RN.

  1. get NumConnected does not shows any connected devices whereas if i run get connecteddevices command, I can see a connected device.
  2. If RN is off, still connecteddevices shows it to be connected
  3. Can't ping to the RN (ping -6 -I wfan0 RN_IPv6).
  4. Is there any way to send and receive custom data to and from RN?

I am using Raspberry pi and i have tested in WSL.

Thanks

Baljeet

  • Hi Baljeet,

I will try to reproduce what you are seeing. I assume that you have performed the setup correctly because the connected devices command is returning the correct value.

The connected devices will list the device there even if it is turned off for a timeout period of 30 mins. After which the device will be kicked out of the list.

If the router node is switched off, you cannot ping the device.

Since you are evaluating on LP-CC1352P7, you can run the coap example we provide in the SDK. You can use CoAP to send and receive data on the nodes.

  • Hi Sid,

Is there any way to reduce the 30 mins timeout?

Ping stops working if I left the RN connected for a while, about 2 - 3 hours. But with spinel-cli python utility, it works fine.

    Thanks

    Baljeet

  • Hi Baljeet,

The timeout is likely a stack level parameter, but I will look into the possibility of varying this.
I couldn't see a disconnect on my setup. But I will setup and test it again on my end and also get back to you about the connecteddevice timeout.

    Regards,

    Sid
