CC1310: The debug interface is locked, and Force Mass Erase is useless.

Hi team,

Here's the request from the customer:

During production, when writing FLASH, the debugger program is wrong without checking, which causing write data beyond FLASH address (write beyond 0x0001FFFF address). As a result, the chip can no longer be burned.

Does modifying the CCFG file cause the situation that the chip will be locked? Is there any way to unlock it by software?

What’s more, the CCFG file’s address is near the 0x0001FFFF address, how to modify it to other address. Customer tried to modify to another address, but the program can‘t run succeddfully.

Could you help check this case? Thanks.

You cannot change the location of the CCFG. CCFG is always located in the last sector of flash.

Hi Nick,

It depends on what changes has been made. If the changes has prevented mass erase and debugging, then there is not much to do. If debugging is allowed, then the flash programmer might be able to modify the CCFG, but it does not seem like that is possible since it is mentioned that "the chip can no longer be burned"

Customer complains that the program protection of chip is not done properly as well as the CCFG should not be modified.

How can help him?

Hi Nick,

What do you (or the customer mean) with "program protection of chip is not done properly"? And how is this related to the original issue?

Also, what do you mean with "the CCFG should not be modified"? When has it been modified and why should it not be modified?
