CC1101: Low power & long range (& low cost). LoRa replace

I have a product designed with LoRa and I'm wondering if we can switch to some SubGhz transceiver chip with the same or better specifications. And also have the Wake on Radio function filtering address before sending the interrupt to the main MCU.
I have used CC1101 in the past, but I don't know how it works at a very long range (several KM), and there is also not enough information on this topic, so I don't know if there is any bug compared to LoRa. There are also amplifiers to increase the range and for the gateway it can be an option because there are no power restrictions, but the final device must be ultra-low power.

Hi Daniel, LoRa is a proprietary/closed RF technology that we and many other semiconductors do not support. Now, there are many other ways to achieve long range. Assuming the same antenna performance, you can get better range by either increasing the output power and/or improving the sensitivity.

1. Output power: If regulations allow for this, you can add the CC1190 https://www.ti.com/product/CC1190 . CC1190 is an RF front end module that will amplify the singla both on the input (LNA ) and output (power amplifier). Alternatively, use one of our "P" parts that has a +20 dBm output power already integrated.

2. Better sensitivity: The way to get better sensitivity you need to lower the data rate of the signal. This can be done either by using a more narrow channel or by adding DSSS coding to the signal. We have done both in what we call SimpleLink long range mode. This is supported in all of our CC13xx parts. You can read more about this here: https://www.ti.com/lit/an/swra642/swra642.pdf This solution will give you very good sensitivity and "OK" data rate (not too low).

Cc1101 with an amplifier is able to achieve this low power & long range? If not, what transceiver part can I use? (I don't need mcu)

You have any power measurements comparative? As I said, the gateway doesn't have power requirements, but the end devices does.

Can you confirm if this parts have Wake on Radio with address (or any other unique id) filter? (To avoid wake up mcu for packet checking)

In terms of low power, this depends a lot on how much data you have and how often you need to transmit data. Higher output power will increase the current consumption in TX, but if you only need to send data seldom - for example every hour - then this is probably be OK (as long as the battery can handle the peak current) - if you need to transmit fairly often, then it is probably not OK. The CC13xx has lower RX and TX consumption compared to CC1101 and we also have WoR (https://software-dl.ti.com/simplelink/esd/simplelink_cc13x0_sdk/2.20.00.38/exports/docs/proprietary-rf/proprietary-rf-users-guide/proprietary-rf-guide/rfWakeOnRadioRx_README.html) .

I searched on the sub-ghz and seems like there is no only-transceiver on the CC13xx family, right? And no only-transceiver with integrated amplifier?

My use case is rx with tx each 30 min and maybe some more rx/tx a day, an very short payloads, so CC1101 with CC1190 will be ok if there is no better option

That's correct - they are all SoCs.

However, the CC13xxP devices contain an integrated +20 dBm power amplifier.
