CC1120: 150-154Mhz Murs using cc112X?

Part Number: CC1120
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1125, , CC1121

I am implementing a radio to operate on the MURS bands at 150-154Mhz. The data sheet for the CC1121 subnotes to contact TI if trying to use these frequencies. I would like to know what the concern is as the data sheet specifies operation down to 137Mhz but lacks any other detail. I would also consider evaluating the CC1120 or CC1125 but the data sheets for these do not mention operation below 169Mhz. Thank you.

  • Hi,

The radio validation is normally performed in the regulatory standard ISM bands which is 169 MHz here. In addition to the complete radio validation at the regulatory ISM band, the radio is also tested at the frequency band limits to which is then specified in the datasheet.

I would start with the standard ref design at 169 MHz, then this can be used as a base deign. Then the register settings can be adapted for 150-154 MHz.
