Tool/software:

Using CC1352P7 we want to develop a border router and node router and must have following

a) compact

b) Border Router should be taking care of 1000+ nodes and node router

c) Easy to install or upload the Wi-Sun Stack .

Kindly clarify or guide the following:

1. We want to use RaspBerryPi or All Winner A64 based SBC as Host

2. How we can load the WiSun stack on CC1352P7 on the Node Router.

Note: For production purpose the CC1352P7 XL Evaluation board or similar can't be used

Hi Najmuddin,

I'll answer about the TI Wi-SUN FAN Stack.

a) I believe the TI Wi-SUN Stack is the most compact in the market. You can see memory consumption numbers in the Software Product Overview:

b) CC1352P7 as border router supports up to 100 nodes. CC13x4 devices support up to 300 nodes.

1. For the host, we have two example implementations:

2. If you have a serial line on the board you can use the serial bootloader (ROM bootloader). We have an app note and host example code:

So will it be correct to say that TI doesn't have any chipset or MCU which can support upto 1,000 nodes, as the maximum you have shown in 300 nodes.

Hi Najmuddin,

Yes, at least not for the TI Wi-SUN Stack.

(If you implement a proprietary RF network you may be able to achieve this. We also know it's possible to use the CC1200 transceiver and implement your own Wi-SUN Stack on a host device and achieve a large number of connected nodes.)
