confusion ...

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1101, CC1190, CC1120

I'm on the transmit side, we have CC1101-CC1190EM 869 MHz and the reception is ANAREN A1101R08A  ...

Does no consequences for the module CC1101-CC1190EM 869 MHz can not see him put PATABLE = 0x8B (+25 dBm)
(Application Note AN096 for CC1101-CC1190EM 915 MHz design).
It is important to me that I made a better range ...
When it does not take into account that "CC1101 + CC1190 is not compliant with ETSI for output powers larger than +20 dbm" ....

Thanks in advance !

  • I find it a bit difficult to understand what your question is.

Do you ask if it's ok to use PATABLE = 0x8B on the CC1101+CC1190 869 MHz design?

Are you trying to say that you see no difference in range from the +20 dBm to the +25 dBm setting?

  • The question is whether it is ok to use  PATABLE = 0x8B on the CC1101+CC1190 869 MHz design?

In the data sheet have the 869mhz limit to 20dBm ...

  • Yes, but as previously stated you can't use it because the design will not be ETSI compliant. If you need higher output power than +20 dBm you should look at CC1120+CC1190 where it is possible to use up to +27 dBm.

  • Whether patable same values for CC1101-CC1190EM 869 MHz and CC1101-CC1190EM 915 MHz in the range of from 10 to 25dBm ?

Can you tell me the value patable for CC1101-CC1190EM 869 MHz design, npr in range 10  to 25dBm ?

( I ask this because I'm trying to design for the CC1101-CC1190EM 869 mhz get you greater range ... )

    Thank you in advance ...

  • Use SmartRF Studio. Select "Range extender" and the EM you are using. The 869 MHz EM has a bit more loss than the 915 MHz design due to more filtering hence the difference in the output power for a given PA TABLE setting.

Note that you will get better link budget if you lower that datarate. Also, why is it used a Anaren module on the receive side?

  • I ask one more time ....

In the data sheet have the 869mhz limit to 20dBm ...

The question is whether it is ok to use  PATABLE = 0x8B on the CC1101+CC1190 869 MHz design (Patable 0x8b is for  CC1101+CC1190 915 MHz design ) ?

(I will not be destroyed amplifiers ?)

Can you tell me the value patable for CC1101-CC1190EM 869 MHz design, npr in range 20  to 26dBm ?

  • You will not destroy the amplifier.

We don't have any PATABLE values for +20 - +27 dBm as this is not measured since it's not compliant with ETSI. But as previously said you may use the values for the CC1101+CC1190 915 design and get within a dB to the correct value.
