CC1310: How to send data in long range mode

Hi all,

I want to send data minimum range of 1km (line of sight). My data rate is up to 10kbps. I used 2-GFSK, 30kbps stmbol rate, 15kHz deviation, 59kHz RX BW and i reach to 300m.

There are few typical settings in SmartRF Studio 7, Version 2.6.0 such as :

Q1: In here, i know there are so much differences between long range mode and 50kbps mode. I observe differences using code export. But what are the differences between 50kbps and 10kbps mode except deviation, symbol rate and rx BW filter?

Q2: Which rf settings can you suggest to me to provide these specs(1 km range and 10kbps max data rate)?

Q3: Using SmartRF Studio 7, i exported code of 10 kbps typical setting and loaded these code settings to my CC1310. But with these settings CC1310 cannot send any data. But when i loaded the codes of 50kbps typical setting CC1310 can send data. What can be reason of this problem? Is 10kbps mode incompatible with my CC1310 chip?

Q4: When i connect to CC1310 Launchpad using SmartRF Studio 7 these settings are observed in SmartRF studio.

When i connect to my custom CC1310 board using SmartRF Studio there settings are observed.

So Does it mean my board cannot support other typical settings such as 10kbps and 5kbps Long range modes ?

1) There are several differences in the override list and you can see these differences when doing a diff of the files. The overrides are found via characterization and are registers that the customers should not play around with.

2) Please see the following to be able to estimate range:

3) The 10 kbps settings are only characterized for Rev. B and you need to remove 2 overrides from the settings to make them work on Rev. A:

HW32_ARRAY_OVERRIDE(0x405C,1),

(uint32_t)0x18000200,

4) The LP has rev. B and your HW have Rev. A. Studio will check which version of the chip is connected and give you the settings characterized for that chip.

All settings that are characterized on Rev. A will also work on Rev. B, while settings only characterized on Rev. B will have some additional overrides that needs to be removed to run on Rev. A
