CC1350: Max data rate supported by CC1350

CC1350 can do 4 Mbps using 8-GFSK. Do a search on E2E and you will find information regarding this modulation format. For 2-GFSK modulation the maximum data rate is 500 kbps.

2-GFSK, 500 kbps will have better sensitivity and hence longer range than 8-GFSK 4 Mbps . Furthermore, lower data rates will give longer range.

2-GFSK, 500 kbps, +/-175 kHz deviation gives a sensitivity of -97 dBm (see processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Settings_for_Different_PHY's for sensitivity at other data rates).

8-GFSK gives a sensitivity of -83 dBm.

14 dB difference in sensitivity yields a factor 2^(14/6) = 5 difference in range.

According to the "CC1350 SimpleLink™ Wireless MCU Silicon Errata" (http://www.tij.co.jp/jp/lit/er/swrz067a/swrz067a.pdf)

The maximum supported datarate is 100kbps.

Is 500kbps for 2GFSK supported, and characterized by now? Can I use this bit rate for my product development?

2-GFSK, 500 kbps has been characterized and is supported. Use SmartRF Studio to get the optimum register settings.
