CC1350STK: Multiple units non functional temperature sensor, users guide clarification

Hi team,

A customer has purchased a few CC1350 Sensortags and none of them have functional temperature sensors out of the box. Other sensors work.

They have pointed out that on this page:

We state this:

This User's Guide also applies to CC1350 SensorTag.
The TMP007 IR Temperature sensor is no longer manufactured and is not fitted on SensorTags produced after June 2017. From CC2640STK 1.5.1.

Did we just change sensors or can you let me know more about this statement?

Hi,

As per the above statement, No Temp Sensor on the Sensor Tag, if it is manufactured after June, 2017.

Hi Billy,

Several other sensors on the SensorTag also include temperature measurements. I believe the SensorTag apps uses the temperature data from the BMP280 specifically to report ambient temperature.

If you own a CC2540 USB dongle or a CC1350/CC2560 or CC2640R2 Launchpad (and work on Windows) you can use BLE Device Monitor to investigate the output from the alternative temperature sensors (BMP280, HDC1000).
