I am attempting to design a PCB antenna similar to the one #4 of the CC-ANTENNA-DK2 kit. Where can I find the design note on how the dimensions for this antenna were calculated, as well as the precise schematic and dimensions for the existing antenna?

Hi James,

There is no design note showing how the dimensions for this antenna is calculated.

For the exact dimensions, please refer to the gerber data for the CC-Antenna-DK2.

If you want to calculate / simulate the resonance, then I would import the gerber data into Ansys or ADS. The antenna dimensions are dependent of the GND plane size so this must be included into the final simulations as well.

Thank you for responding.

I was able to find the gerber files and take a look at them in KiCad.

Is there a recommended way to design the matching network on this antenna as well?

You can always measure the impedance with just a 0 ohm resistor in series in the antenna match and then use a smith chart to match the antenna.
