CC110L: POWER VS DISTANCE GRAPH FOR CC110L

Part Number: CC110L

hello,

i am working on project where i am transmitting and  receiving data through RF IC CC110L . i want to plot graph of power consumption vs distance .

my question is

1.IC consumption  will be same irrespective of distance or will change with distance.???

2.if i want to plot graph what could be done??

  • Hi Vishal,

Both range and power consumption will change with the output power of the radio. Typically, you do not really change the output power dynamically, but you can definitely make the correlation you are after. You can use the range calculator to estimate the range you will get for various power settings: http://www.ti.com/lit/zip/swsc002

  • Hello,

Thanks for reply. I will check and come back to you but meanwhile I have one question,

Say I am configuring my  transmitter at 12dbm power level and it has a power consumption of  230mW.

now I want to perform a distance test means I will put my transmitter on one side and a receiver on other side and gradually moving my receiver  far away from the  transmitter. And measuring power consumption of transmitter for various distance,  It has power consumption of  230mW as it was earlier. So my assumption is that It will not going to change with the receiver distance  because  once I had configured the transmitter power, unless and untill I am not configuring that again at different power level it will not going to be change.

    Please suggest and correct me.

    Regards,

    Vishal

  • Hi Vishal,

    That is correct.
