CC-ANTENNA-DK2: elical PCB Antenna- Board #6 Additional Information

Part Number: CC-ANTENNA-DK2

Hi Team,

My Customer needed below information for CC-ANTENNA-DK2 Board #6, I tried searching this information unfortunately, this is not included in the datasheet.

CC-ANTENNA-DK2 Information:

1. Width of beam at ½ Power Point
2. Circuit Loss [dB]
3. Antenna Axial Ratio
4. Antenna Noise Temperature [dBK]

Your inputs are highly appreciated.

  • Hi,

The data for each antenna reference design is according to the standards set by CTIA (Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association) OTA (Over The Air) standards.

    CC-Antenna-DK2 report: http://www.ti.com/lit/an/swra496a/swra496a.pdf

    1. Refer to page 153 for the CTIA OTA summary that includes all plots necessary and data tables if further information is required. The data tables can be inserted into excel / Matlab for further analysis if required.

    2. Refer to page 153 for the CTIA OTA summary: efficiency -2.00 dB at 868 MHz.

    3. Refer to page 153 for the CTIA OTA summary. The ratios are specified.

    4. We do not normally state this value since this is mainly related to fixed location antennas. The antenna ref designs are for general use for handheld devices that are not fixed in a specific location. If required, this can be derived from the data in the tables but this will only be academic calculation. To calculate this, the formulas can be found at: http://www.antenna-theory.com/basics/temperature.php. As mentioned on the antenna theory link, antenna noise temperature does not relate to noise figure.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,
