CC1101: CC110L Evaluation card for 868-915 Mhz?

Team,

Customer is looking for evaluation card for both CC1101 and CC110L.
The goal is to do some evaluation in the following band: Base freq. 867.999 Mhz, channel spacing 199.95kHz , carrier 867.9Mhz, GFSK mod, 0 dBM TX power.

It seems that the CC11XLDK-868-915 kit is not available anymore.
What kits the availlable (ie orderable and in stock)?

Looking at CC1101:

The SMARTRFTRXEBK is in stcok but the CC1101EMK868-915 daughter card is not.
-Is it possible to get some CC1101EMK868-915 daughter cards?
-Is there a BOOSTERPACK available for CC1101?

Looking at CC110L:

The SMARTRFTRXEBK is listed but it does not seem that a compatible module is available.
-Is there a compatible CC110L daughter card available?

The 430BOOST-CC110L is listed as well.
-Can it support the above sub-1Ghz parameters?
-What MCU lauchnpad do we recommend?
-With which MCU launchpad are the SW examples (PER test SW, CC11xx example libraies, ..etc) compatible?
-Do we have ready to use examples for MCU launchpad + 430BOOST-CC110L? any example for MSP430FRxxx launchpad?

CC13xx is not an option as an other MCU is used already. Just the sub-1Ghz transceiver is needed.

Hi,

It seems none of then are available in TI store.

CC1101 DK is available in 433MHz band (CC1101DK433). If they want they can get that kit and modify it to 868-915MHz band.

If they are willing to use CC1120 then some Development kits are available.

I was looking at CC1101DK quick satrt guide - SWRU126B but I am not 100% sure:
-Do you mean that CC1101DK433 and CC1101DK868-915 are the same HW kit?
-Is just a SW change needed to operate the kit in 868-915MHz band?
-Are both antenna types (868-915 MHz: Pulse W5017, 2 dBi and 420-470 MHz: Pulse SPWH24433TI, 0 dBi) provided in the CC1101DK433 kit?

Hi,

No, the Circuit topology on both boards would be same. Yes, they may need to change RF Circuit component values from 868-915MHz Reference design.

Yes, Antennas are also frequency dependent. So, they may need to get 868-915MHz separately (from Digkey).

If they are looking for a Development then this could be an option.

If they don't want to go through the above exercise then it is better to consider other TI chips (CC1120..)

It looks like the CC1101 EMs has been phased out due to limited interest. But it's a lot of small CC1101 modules on the market (see https://www.amazon.com/s?k=cc1101&ref=nb_sb_noss_1 as one example) that can be combined with CC_Debugger. Note that TI has not evaluated the RF performance on 3. party boards. CC1101 board can be used to evaluate CC110L or this can be used: http://www.ti.com/tool/430BOOST-CC110L.

The BOM and gerber for the EMs are available on the web so it's also possible for a customer to make a few boards.

I found a 2nd hand CC1101EMK868-915 kit : https://www.digikey.de/product-detail/en/CC1101EMK868-915/296-30806-ND/1896295

Is it still ok for evaluation?
What software need to be used with it?
Since the TI.COM is not available I can not check...

You then need if you get hold of a CC1101EM:
