I would suggest you to post MSP430 related topic at MSP low-power microcontroller forum.
Hello,
This device does not appear to be a TI device. There is a Part Marking tool available: http://www.ti.com/packaging/docs/partlookup.tsp , and entering those characters in the search yields no results. Reducing the number of characters in the search to EG shows the TPS799 LDO, but it is a 5-pin device, so this is not what is on the pcb.
I just discovered the MRD2 is a Microreader Eval Module, and from the schematic on page 17 of the User Guide: http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/scbu049/scbu049.pdf , it seems the device is associated with the ANTENNA, but again, it is not a TI device and there is no reference to it in the User Guide.
I will see if there is some additional information available, but most likely will be next week since this is a U.S. holiday period.
Regards,
~Leonard
