CC110L: CC110L Automatic POR question

Part Number: CC110L

When using the CC110L, after finding that the CSn pin is pulled low after power is supplied, the SO output continues to be high. The occurrence of this phenomenon is about 40%. How do I resolve this issue?

  • If SO remains high this indicate that the xtal oscillator has not started. If you have a low capacitance oscilloscope probe that will have minimal impact on the xtal probe the Q1 pin on a good and bad device and compare.

If the xtal has not started:

    - Is the mounting of the chip and xtal good?

    - Measure the voltage on the RBIAS and DCOUPL pins (should be 1.25 V and 1.8 V)

    - Is the correct CL used for the selected xtal, is the xtal used within spec?

  • Thanks,

We increased the use of the manual reset feature and it seems to resolve the issue.

We will continue to observe if this problem occurs again.
