LAUNCHXL-CC1352R1: Running TIDA-010022

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC1352R1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-010022, , UNIFLASH, MMWAVEICBOOST

Hello

I'm trying to run TIDA-010022 lab for wireless transmitting radar results.

Here is (http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/tidued6a/tidued6a.pdf?ts=1590768335903) the guidelines to the lab, however once I flashed LAUNCHXL-CC1352R1 device as a collector from TIDA-010022 package , I should be able to see red light of DIO06 once powered up. I assume powered from a PC.

The flashing was successful, however no red light. Please help?

Thank you

Regards

  • Hey Maxim,

After flashing the CC1352R1, perform a reset and hold the right button (BTN-2) for a few seconds to clear the NV on the device. Does the collector now have the solid light?

Next steps I would try is to erase the Entire Flash using Uniflash and reflashing the device.

  • Hello,  Ammar

Tried both ways, but no luck. Red DIO is still off. I have several LAUNCHXL-CC1352R1, tried on all of them, no red light. Really out of ideas.

In the demo is says "Power on the collector node (CC1352 only) with the USB power supply first, and then wait for the red LED "Red: DIO6" to be on."

May be I'm waiting not long enough...is 1-2 min of sufficient?

Tried reset with power cycle and with Uniflash tool (with BTN-2, as you mentioned), still the same.

    Thanks

  • Hey Maxim,

The reason the software is not running is because that TIDA was built in CC1352 SDK 2.10 which was made for pre rev-e silicon (https://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless-connectivity/zigbee-and-thread/f/158/t/767777).

Therefore, to get this to run on the latest revision silicon you will have to build the firmware as outlined in the TIDA and port over this project to the latest SDK (https://www.ti.com/tool/SIMPLELINK-CC13X2-26X2-SDK).

If you need further support with this TIDA, I would hit "Ask a related question" and change the part number to the mmWave sensor so you reach the correct group.

  • Hello Ammar,

    Thanks for reply.

Indeed that was the main issue I guess, thanks. I guess then it must be mentioned in the guidelines, as currently it's not useful.

However it took me quite an effort to go first patch the design, then to go throught all the errors to rebuild it, etc.

Then it seems mmwaveicboost board needs to be upgraded quite a lot, for example for some reason 5V couldn't get to the LAUNCHXL-CC1352R1 board, so needs further figure-outing and soldering, etc.

Finally I got the green led blinking between boards, meaning some data was transferring.

Now the next point I see I could read the port say with teraterm, however I don't see exactly the same thing as in the guidelines, this is one thing.

And the next is it possible to visualize collected data day with ti web-visualiser?

A side question is it possible to run this lab with AoP board?

    Thank you!

  • Hey Maxim,

The scope here is outside my area of expertise in terms of the mmWave side of things.

I suggest making a new thread in the Sensors forum (including the mmWave sensor on the post similar to how you included the LAUNCHXL-CC1352R1) to get more insight on the web-visualizer.

This lab most likely cannot run on an AoP board alone because of the wireless 15.4 component.
