CC1310: Wireless M-Bus : how to configure Smart RF studio for T&C mode?

Part Number: CC1310

Team,

The below app note does provide info to configure the RF side for T&C mode:
https://www.ti.com/lit/an/swra522e/swra522e.pdf
It seems to refer to SDK 2.20.00.28 TI drivers examples: rfPacketRx / rfPacketTx
http://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?a=eCfARaV__2.20.00.38&node=AMSUAq1kwfQ3P43wDbJgag__eCfARaV__2.20.00.38

Now how can those T&C mode be tested in Smart RF Studio (SMARTRFTM-STUDIO) directly?
The below post suggests it is possible and the settings are supported:
https://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless-connectivity/sub-1-ghz/f/156/t/957469
Could you please provide further information ?

Thanks in advance!

A.

  • It depends on what you define as "tested". It's possible to receive a C or T mode packet with SmartRF Studio but you will most likely get issues with the packet length and CRC.

    - T mode uses 3 out of 6 coding. SmartRF Studio is not able to decode this.

If you setup SmartRF Studio to receive on the correct frequency, datarate, deviation and sync word you will be able to receive a T or C mode frame but it would need some post processing (not in Studio) to identify the received as a T or C mode frame.
