Hi,

There are a few reference designs available for CC1310.

Designs have some difference in components type and values.

1. CC1310 4-layers 5x5 and 7x7 design uses multilayer inductors but 2-layers 7x7 design uses wirewound inductors. What inductors are preferable?

2. There are some differences in LC vaues. What schematic (components values) has best performance?

Wire wound inductors will give slightly better performance but will also give higher spurious emissions. For best over all performance use the 4 layer design. The optimal load impedance is different for the different packet sizes. If you are going to use a 5x5 packet, use the values from the 5x5 ref design, the same if you are going to use 7x7, use the 7x7 ref design.

2-layer has about 0.25 dBm better sensitivity and 0.05 dBm better output power => fairly minimal difference.

Are there plans to publish a reference design for a 2-layer board using the 5x5 package? Alternatively, could you advise on which components of the v1.3.3 2-layer 7x7 reference design to change to make it suitable for a 5x5 package? Thanks!

We haven't made a 2 layer design with 5x5 so which components you need to change will be a guess.

Comparing 7x7 2 layer and 4 layer and the 5x5 4 layer designs it looks like you can start with something like (Start from the 5x5 4 layer design):
- L11 ~15 nH
- C14: 3.3 pF
