CC1310: CC1310 rev.A vs rev.B packing info

Part Number: CC1310

Hello,

I have the problem with a producer of our device based on CC1310. They are changing chips revision between batches of produced devices, though saying that they have only one reel of CC1310.

I wasn't able to find decoder of the code written on chip so several questions. Is it possible to meet both rev.A and rev.B in one reel? Is the text on the chip (e.g. TI 76l C98K G4) is the same on all chips from one reel? Can I decode it somehow?

Thanks

  • If I'm not mistaken this chip marking is from June 2017 and we stopped to produce rev A in January that year. From this I find it a bit hard to believe that you have gotten both rev A and rev B on the same reel.

Could you confirm that chips with marking TI 76l C98K G4 could be reported both as rev A or rev B when the board is connected to SmartRF Studio or similar?
  • Sorry, that's actually a code from rev.B chip, gave it as an example. The rev.A has TI 6Cl AN54 G4. When was it produced?
Different code means different reel for sure?
  • The rev A looks like it's produced in December 20016. It's not uncommon that chips from 2 different lots are placed on one reel but from my understanding it should not happen that two revisions are placed on the same reel. That said it could be that it exist a few out there but it sounds strange that you have received one.
