Hello all,

I have a question related to CC1310 used with CoProcessor code. We are developing wearable device in which we use cc1310 as wireless communication module. WE have a base station which collects data from up to 30 remote units. Our base station is single board computer running ubuntu and has cc1310 module connected to it via uart and we use the linux gateway example to collect the data and setup the cc1310 module. On our remote units we have also MCU connected with uart to cc1310 module and we are going to use the CoProcessor code on the cc1310. So our remote units are sensors and my question is how to configure the cc1310 Coprocessor module to act as a sensor (connect and send data to the linux gateway). Can someone tell me the configuration command sequence which has to be performed in order to setup the cc1310 to connect to our gateway and send data to it? Also is there any example available on how to use the Coprocessor as a sensor node not as a collector node.

Hi Ivan,

Is it correct to assume you are working with TI 15.4? There is no examples on how to use the coprocessor as a sensor, I will ask a colleague and see if this is supported and if there is any available documentation regarding this.

Hi Ivan,

In theory you should be able to implement this, but you would have to bring all sensor related files over from the embedded SDK to the linux SDK. Basically what you can do is to replace all the collector files (assuming the collector example here) with the sensor files from the embedded SDK and it should work.

You should count on doing some additional porting work on the code as you move from the embedded SDK to the Linux SDK.

Thank you for your reply. Thats what i am doing now, but my question is can anybody tell me which commands of the Coprocessor should be used in order to configure it as a sensor and connect it to the gateway?

Hi Ivan,

I believe there is no such specific commands. The co-processor is simply the MAC layer part while the stack logic is put into the Linux application. That is why you should simply have to "replace the collector files with the sensor files" as this would include setting up the device as a sensor.
