Hello,

I am using CC1350STk applicaton code with ti 15.4 stack.

My 1st question is : using 15.4 stack how many max nodes i can connect to single collector? and why ? Can i connect 500 nodes ?

My 2nd question is : if two node joins a collector how the data collisions between both is taken care?

My 3rd question is : I connected three nodes, i observed that all three are having diff extrn address, who is going to assign this unique address and how we can identify that which node is connected to collector, if we have more number of nodes?

My 4th question is : If i dont use 15.4 stack, how many max nodes can i connect to concentrator?

1. Using CC1350 with security enable TI 15.4 Stack, the collector only supports upto 50 nodes. This is because CC1350 only has limited RAM/Flash.
2. Node will do collision detection before it sends message.
3. It’s collector to assign short address to sensor nodes and you cannot assign short address from your application.
4. As replied in 1, it’s 50. If you need more than 50 nodes, you can use CC1352.

Thanks Chan for you quick reply, it is very informative.

I have another doubt if i started two collector and then i started one sensor.

Then on which collector my sensor will join, i mean based on distance or how?

Assume that all three have same PAN id.

Basically, you have to enble permit join on collector to allow sensor node to join it. It will depends on which one of two collectors is permit join enable.

Yes, exactly that i know, but assume that both are having permit join at starting only.
I mean both collectors are scanning for devices to be joined. In that case how it will join.

As I know, the sensor should pick the one is closer to itself to join.

Okay thank you so much for your fast response.

Suppose i have two different collectors running with different PAN ids 0x1001 and 0x1234.
i have 5 sensors connected to 0x1001 and 3 sensors on 0x1234.
Suppose in between my 0x1234 collector went off.
Will those 3 sensor join collector having 0x1001.
Or if i want them to join how i will do?

No, those 3 sensors won't join collector having 0x1001. You have to do factory reset to hose sensors and enable permit join on PAN ids 0x1001 to allow those 3 sensors to join.
