CC1150: Can the CC debugger be used with the CC1150

Part Number: CC1150
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1100, CC-DEBUGGER

Can the CC Debugger be used with the CC1150? I hooked one up and CC Debugger/RF Studio seems to detect the CC1150, but I get unstable behavior when running the Packet Tx mode.

  • Chris,

Yes it can be used, if you are seeing stability issues it is likely due to the way you "hooked" up the circuit board to the debugger. The signals are running at 2-4MHz and need good wiring to work properly. Make sure your wires are short 1-2 (5cm) inches and you have a good ground wire also.

  • Is there a spec for hooking up the CC1150. The user manual doesn't seem to have a wiring diagram specifically for the CC1150. When connecting to the CC1100 GDO0 and GDO2 are used. The CC1150 doesn't have a GDO2. Can GDO1 be used instead?
  • That could be the issue, try swapping the GDO0 and GDO1 pins.

There is a user guide for the cc-debugger, please read it.

  • That is a pretty arrogant response, perhaps one you should have kept to yourself.

Why would I even post here if I haven't read it.

Maybe you should read it...Given you are a Ti "expert" I think it is reasonable for me to expect that you know the manual doesn't specifically address the CC1150 and that is why I posted the question.

For the record, and your edification, GDO1 on the CC1150 is multiplexed with SO (MISO). Attaching the DC signal on the CC Debugger header to the SO(GDO1) signal on the CC1150 seems to have stabilized the communication.

    Thanks for the help.
