Hello All,

I'm having issue regarding cc1312 power consumption. I have been through all of the available threads on this topic and tried it too. sadly any of these available solutions didn't worked for me so I created a new thread.

I am using default ti 15.4 stack sensor board code

I have removed POWER_MEAS predefined macro.

Polling interval is 6000

before connecting to collector it shows ~6.49 mA and once it is connected to collector it shows ~50 uA (which is supposed to be around ~10uA),

Can anyone suggest me what I'm doing wrong? Or how should I measure it accurately?

Try to disable UART to test again.

Are you using a launchpad or a custom board when you are measuring the power?
If you are using a launchapd make sure you have defined POWER_MEAS
Defining this macro will make sure to turn the external flash off and if I had to guess those extra 40uA that you are getting are coming from the external flash.

Also as Yikai said make sure UART is disabled and make sure the debugger is disconnected.

Hello Hector,
I am using CC1312R1LAUNCHXL, I have disconnected debugger, And as you suggested I defined POWER_MEAS still it is showing me ~50 uA.
I have already disabled UART as YK Chen suggested.

Try to remove all jumpers (except RX) between XDS110 Debugger and CC1312R on your LaunchPad to test power consumption again.

It seems it worked the current reading is now 7 uA to 10 uA. But I didn't understood need of this RXD jumper, Can you explain me why we need this ?? please,

I had seen the same issue when I test this. I think you don’t disable UART successfully. If you disable UART successfully, you don’t have to put RX jumper on and you will see <10uA in your test.

You also need to revise the following in CC1312R_LAUNCHXL.c.

#ifndef BOARD_DISPLAY_USE_UART
#define BOARD_DISPLAY_USE_UART 0 // original set to 1
#endif

I did as you suggested, I set "#define BOARD_DISPLAY_USE_UART 0 // original set to 1"

do I have to remove that RXD jumper ?

I tested by removing jumper but the current measure is 50uA.

If you revise the define, you don’t have to remove that RXD jumper.

Hello Chen,
In your earlier suggestion you mentioned "If you disable UART successfully, you don’t have to put RX jumper on and you will see <10uA in your test."

I guess by that you meant BOARD_DISPLAY_USE_UART isn't successfully disabling the UART and you suggested me to revice the #define BOARD_DISPLAY_USE_UART 0 which I suppose will disable UART completely. Correct me if I am wrong.

Now, to remove RXD jumper do I have to follow any other steps or am I good to remove RXD Socket?

Hello Chen,
I am still seeking help to minimize the current consumption without RXD jumper. As I have to develop custom board which doesn't have debugger on it. Do you have any suggestion for me to minimize the current consumption without RXD jumper. Thanks in advance

which gives me ~50uA without RXD jumper and ~7uA with RXD jumper.
I want ~7uA without RXD jumper.

I try this test again.

1. Add "x" in front of BOARD_DISPLAY_USE_UART (looks like "xBOARD_DISPLAY_USE_UART") in predefined symbols.

2. Define "#defineBOARD_DISPLAY_USE_UART 0" in CC1352R1_LAUNCHXL.c

Then, clear and build sensor example to run on my LAUNCHXL-CC1312R1. I can see and cofirm the sleeping curreent is ~7uA@3V
