CC1150: RF Power Amplifier

We are planning to use CC1150 at one of the products & may need to increase the RF power output through external power. Can anyone please suggest a low cost external RF amplifier, tested to work with the chip?

 Frequency of interest: 315MHz & 433MHz ISM band

Desired RF Power output to antenna port with External PA:  +15 to +18dBm

    Hi,

    You could use discrete version PA design and optimize it for the frequency bands you are interested in. Following app note has a design with CC1310 that can be used as reference.

    Thanks a lot for the reference! Can we consider the same reference design for 315MHz or 433MHz both the bands?

    Can you please provide some reference with external low cost drop-in PA (like skyworks, mini-circuits etc) as well?

    Hi,

    The components will need optimization for different bands but the reference design can be used as an example to start with. The output RF impedance on this part is not 50 ohm (or 100Ohm differential) and it might be hard to find a PA that can be used with CC1150 without impedance matching network. It might be best to consult with vendors offering PA solutions in this band for recommendations on parts that can be used with CC1150.
