CC1310: CC1310 Antenna diversity patch

Hi,

I was going through the Application Note for Antenna diversity in CC1310, SWRA523B.

The measurements taken in the AN is said to be performed in CC13xxEM-7793_4L reference design, which is using RFP and RFN pins in differential mode for Tx and Rx.
How could we implement the diversity in single ended mode with separate antennae at RFN and RFP ? Is the patch for the same available ?
Is it possible for the developer to access the RF_core for applying the patch ?

Hi,

1. RF switch with option to select between 2 antenna and input as the single ended output from CC1310 was used for testing antenna diversity.

2. This is not supported in the patch. However, it is possible to implement this in application code.

3. The override "MCE_RFE_OVERRIDE" is used to define the location used for applying patches. You can refer to the RF driver code for implementation details on applying patches.

2. How could we implement this on the application code ? Will this modification cause any errors in the packet during this type of switching ? Is it possible to do the above requirement as patch ?

3. Is there any AN on applying the patches ?

Hello,

The procedure to implement antenna diversity in the application was discussed in another post:

We do not have a patch to do this.

There is no app note about applying patches and the RF driver is the best place to look for implementation details if you are not planning to use the driver.
