team,

customer wants to use CC1310 @ 433MHz using Wireless M-Bus.

They found files to support 868 MHz in our SDK under wmbus_cc13x0_rtos_2_0_0 but nothing related to 433MHz and they do not have experience. What should be their next steps?

Hi Rogerio,

Is what they want to do to simply run the C/T-mode stack on 433 MHz instead of the default frequency? In theory, this would be possible but one would need to use another set of RF settings and overrides. I will need to look into how these would look and get back to you.

Hi Rogerio,

As we do not support this in our current stack offering, there is no settings files available for this. If the customer want to tests this out themself, they could do the following changes to the .c settings files found in the wmbus projects (src/hal/mcu/mcu-cc13xx/rf_settings):

Inside the CMD_PROP_RADIO_DIV_SETUP override list, change the following values accordingly:

Divider:

From:

// Synth: Set divider bias to disabled (specific for loDivider=5)
(uint32_t)0x18000200,

To:

// Synth: Set divider bias to disabled (specific for loDivider=10)
(uint32_t)0x18000280,

RSSI offset:

From:
// Rx: Set RSSI offset to adjust reported RSSI by +7 dB
(uint32_t)0x00F988A3,

From:
// Rx: Set RSSI offset to adjust reported RSSI by -1 dB
(uint32_t)0x000188A3,

Inside CMD_PROP_RADIO_DIV_SETUP:

From:

.centerFreq = 0x0364,
.loDivider = 0x05,

.centerFreq = 0x01B1,
.loDivider = 0x0A,

Inside CMD_FS:

From:
.frequency = 0x0364,
.fractFreq = 0x4CCD,

To:

.frequency = 0x01B1,
.fractFreq = 0x0000,

This should let you run the stack on 433 MHz. Note that I have only quickly tested this out and while it seems to work, there is no guarantee on actual performance. It should however work good enough for them to test it out.

How to setup the demo and see results? We can't find any demo setup guide anywhere. Since we are all zero knowledge of WMBus here, we need at least a guide document.

I recently posted instructions on how to setup a meter + collector test case using the Serial APL, it should apply to you as well:

Flash one LP with a collector image and another with a matching meter image, then use the Sfserialcli tool to configure the two devices and form a network.
