CC1120DK: One TrxEB board will connect to SmartRF Studio 7 the other TrxEB will not connect

Part Number: CC1120DK

Software: SmartRF Studio 2.17.0 clicked on Sub-1 GHz tab.

List of Connected Devices:

    TrxEB (USB device ID=2195, Fireware revision=0044), --CC1120

The other TrxEB board does not show up.

Both TrxEB boards are rev 1.7

Both boards have the same jumpers

Hardware: PN: CC1120DK

                 Rev 2.0.0

How do I connect the other board?

    You can do the following way.

    1. Connect 1st board and double click on SmartRF Studio Icon. When it opens, check under "Connected Devices". If the board is good then SmartRF Studio recognize the board. Then double click on that "Connected Device", it will open up a control panel.
    2. Now Close the Control Panel, disconnect the 1st board  and close the SRS window.
    3. Connect 2nd board and double click on SmartRF Studio Icon. When it opens, check under "Connected Devices". If the board is good then SmartRF Studio recognize the board. Then double click on that "Connected Device", it will open up a control panel.
    4. If it is not showed up in the "Connected Devices" then there must be a problem either with the TrxEb or CC1120EM. You can check the voltages on the Power Supply jumper Pins on TRxEb or swap the boards from the 1st set and see which board has the problem.
    5. If the 2nd board also comes up under "Connected devices" then no issue with the boards.
    6. If the both boards are OK then connect 1st board, open the Control panel by double clicking on that "Connected Device"
    7. Then connect the 2nd board and observe the 2nd connected device and open the Control panel by double clicking on that "Connected Device"

  • The solution you provided did not fix the problem. The solution you provided I had already tried and your solution did not provide any new insight.  I think I have a problem with the software on the TrxEB board.  I think I need to reload the software.

    Please refer to section 11 in the User Guide SWRU294 to update the Firmware. Boot Recovery mode and Board Resurrection Method.
