CC1100: CC1100 WOR minRX timeout

Part Number: CC1100

The WOR cycle is 3S, the minimum is only Rx timeout is 2441ppm*3s 7.3ms. If the current 15.7ma, this power is too large.

The host sends data only send 2 bytes (leading) + 2 (synchronous character) +2 (address) + 1 (length) + 2 (CRC) =9 bytes, 9* /38.4K 1.875ms <7.3ms = 8.

Question 1:

when the host does not have data to send or the host does not send the corresponding address from the address of the data, how toreduce this time? Is the RSSI threshold and address matching check valid?

Question 2:

3s WOR state timeout can only be about 7.3ms., right?

  • Alvin,

The wake on radio algorithm needs a long preamble to work, this is how it finds the signal and still can spend time in sleep. With your configuration of a short preamble, the CC1100 actually needs all of it to be able to decode the packet. The WOR will not work.

I think you best option is if the two nodes are synchronized in time, then the RX nodes knows prior to the packet arriving that a packet is arriving and therefore can stay in sleep until the packet arrives.
