CC1352R: EnergyTrace for external target

Hello,

I am trying to get EnergyTrace to work with an external target, using a CC1352R Launchpad (LP Rev. B). Unfortunately, I am not getting any readings in EnergyTrace (0 current). The onboard LP target produces expected results. Am I missing something?

Hi MH,

You should also jump the power from the CC1352R device to the other side. Try jump the "XDS110 Power" pin to power the other device.

Hi M-W, just to clarify: I already have the XDS110 Power pin jumped, the external target is powered through the JTAG interface.

I am unclear if I need to jump another header?

Hi mh,

If you look closer the the schematic, the power header to the "radio" part of the LaunchPad is sourced form "TARGET_VDD" which sits after the ET circuit. The programmer header you use is sourcing the device with LS_VDD which is before the ET circuit.

You need to run a wire from the big debug header row to power the device you want to measure on for the ET to be able to sense the current.
