CC3220S: How to load / flash program externally on CC3220S chip?

Hi,

I have a questions related to load / flash program externally on CC3220S chip.

On CC3220S launchpad, we can load program using USB interface by uniflash tool.

But now if I want to create my custom hardware using CC3220S chip and I want to load the program, how can I load or which pins required from CC3220S to program using uniflash? so that those pins we can consider to take out when we finalized the hardware design.

Please suggest.

Hi Jasmin,

You have options:

use programming via UART bootlaoder from Uniflash GUI or CLI
use programming via UART bootlaoder by the Embedded programming
use Gang programming and program SPI flash directly by 3rd party flash programmer

Hi Jan,

So if we go with first option then only P55 and P57 UART pins only (2pins) required to bring out on my custom hardware and for program it can connect to USB to TTL converter.? and use uniflash?

Hi Jasmin,

For proper function of Uniflash you should consider connect reset pin as well. Do not forgot to have selected proper SOP mode. For SOP mode 0-1-0 (2-1-0) is recommanded to add pull-up to RX line.
