CC3235MODSF: How to use CC3235MODSF as a bridge to transfer MAC layer packets between Ethernet and WIFI in AP mode ?

Part Number: CC3235MODSF

Dear experts,

I'm a software engineer from Siemens AG.

Currently we are finding a solution to use a Wi-Fi adapter to access Siemens device wirelessly, instead of the traditional Ethernet cable.

The draft design is illustrated in following diagram:

The CC3235MODSF connects with our siemens device via 8 pin connector(RJ45) as Ethernet side while mobile devices connects with CC3235MODSF as Wi-Fi side. The typical use case is that user can access webserver of siemens devices by entering its IP address in the browser of mobile devices. In this case, CC3235MODSF works in AP mode for mobile devices to get connected.

We hope that CC3235MODSF works as like a bridge between Ethernet and Wi-Fi, and it won't perform any actions on Layer3 and higher layer, which means there's no need to use TCP/IP interfaces. Are there any interfaces provided by TI to transfer data between Ethernet and Wi-Fi on MAC layer ? Or are there any examples or solutions for us to refer to?

I noticed that the CC3235MODSF can work in transceiver mode only as STA role, which can not satisfy our requirement that CC3235MODSF must work in AP mode.

Thanks!

Regards,

Lin Zhengping
