CC3235MODSF: CC3235MODx RF design document

Part Number: CC3235MODSF

Hi,

I have 4 questions about CC3235modsf.

1. Is there any document to know CC3235 antenna design guide?

2. If we were using CC3235MODx, can we design RF part on another daughter board?

3. If we would like to put CC3235 module on customer main board, should we use 4 layer pcb? ( i know SWRU548B and there is an answer:4, but just wanna to confirm.)

4. Regard to intermittently connected power saving mode, in power measure demo code , there is "powerShutdown(NOT_ACTIVE_DURATION_MSEC);" which is 5 sec hibernate then wake up.

Can we just let it hibernate forever once get GPIO wake up then auto connect to wifi ap?

Thanks a lot for your support.

  • Hi Aichi,

    1. See Section 3.2 to 3.4 in the LAUNCHCC3235MOD User's Guide. To leverage the module's certification, see the approved antenna list in Section A.5 of the same doc. If you choose an antenna from the list than - it will be covered by the FCC and CE certification. If you choose another antenna, make sure that (1) it is the same type of antenna, (2) the gain should be less or equal (to the listed similar-type antenna)
    2. Let me look into this one
    3. It is recommended to use a 4-layer, but you can also use a 2-layer board
    4. Yes, you can.

  • Aichi,

Regarding your second question, if the RF trace design is the same, you can do C1PC and an RF and EMC spot check will need to be done.
