WL1801MOD: Inquiry about how to change Output Power level with RTTT or with INI file

Hi Miyazaki,

There is nothing you can change in the INI to vary the CW output power.

I haven't tested this myself yet, but Section 5.3 in the RTTT User's Guide shows that when using "Single Tone" you can vary the gain step. Has the customer tried this?

We received customer’s feedback and additional questions as follows.

1. Customer confirmed they were able to change the gain step with "Single Tone".  It means, they confirmed the output power was changed in the range between “-16dBm” and “+8dBm”. Thank you. But, according to datasheet, customer believes they will be able to control the output-power till  around “+17.3 dBm”, but, it does not seem so. Is it possible to control the output-power as  “+17.3 dBm”?
2. Also, customer tried to follow  “5.5 Output Power Test on the WiLink 8 Device” in the RTTT User's Guide. However, it seemed customer was not able to change TX power with CW configuration. Customer is asking if TI would expect this behavior or not. (For modulated signals, it 's OK)
3. For modulated signals, they confirmed  they were able to control Tx power with “Slider”, but, the maximum output seems only 13 dBm. Is there any way to raise TX power to 17.3 dBm?  Customer would like to just confirm if it is possible to support this max tx power or not.

Can I have expert’s advice/comment on them, please ?

For modulated signals, the customer should be able to output something higher than 13dBm when measuring conducted power. Which channel and modulation results in 13dBm? Was the insertion loss of the cable taken into account?

As for the max output power for CW, I'll reach out to R&D about this and get back to you.

We shared your comments with customer. Regarding modulation result, sine I received customer’s configuration in RTTT, I attached it as follows.

It seems 6 channel/54Mbps OFDM configuration. According to datasheet, it may be expected value.
