CC3230S: simplelink_cc32xx_sdk & Azure IOT & Service Pack versions compatibility

Part Number: CC3230S

Hi,

1) How to find host driver version that is present in installed SimpleLink SDK? Whether Host driver is not a part of SimplleLink SDK?

Reference: There is a statement under "Dependencies" as "The ServicePack is bounded to host driver 3.0.1.71" from release note: Release Notes - SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC3235 service pack (ti.com)

2) Whether we can use latest service pack “sp_4.12.0.1_3.7.0.1_3.1.0.26.bin”  with old “simplelink_cc32xx_sdk_4_10_00_07 ” SDK? .

3) Whether latest versions of SimpleLink CC32XX-SDK_5.20.00.06  & CCS 11.0.0.00012  can work with 2 years old azure_cc32xx_4_10_01_01? Link: GitHub - TexasInstruments/azure-iot-pal-simplelink: Adaptation layer for the Azure IoT SDK for TI's SimpleLink devices .

4) What latest version of Azure IOT can be used with latest SimpleLink version CC32XX-SDK_5.20.00.06.

  • Hello,

    1) How to find host driver version that is present in installed SimpleLink SDK? Whether Host driver is not a part of SimplleLink SDK?

You can find host driver version from Release Notes located in <SDK_INSTALL_DIR>/docs/wifi_host_driver_api/.

Whether we can use latest service pack “sp_4.12.0.1_3.7.0.1_3.1.0.26.bin”  with old “simplelink_cc32xx_sdk_4_10_00_07 ” SDK?

You should not use a newer service pack with older SDK versions.

Whether latest versions of SimpleLink CC32XX-SDK_5.20.00.06  & CCS 11.0.0.00012  can work with 2 years old azure_cc32xx_4_10_01_01?

There is a newer version of Simplelink CC32XX SDK, version: 5.30.00.08. However, yes, the azure CC32XX SDK should still be compatible.
