Hello,

I'm looking for the latest WIFISTARTERPRO source code that is on the app stores to help with our development.

Google Play store has 2.2.275, but the source code provided is 2.2.257.

Apple App store has 2.2.28, but the source code provided is 2.2.26.

Additionally, regardless of what version of source code you can provide, could you advice the Xcode and Android version that were used to create them?

Sarah P has created a build instruction post here, but it's 5 years old. Could you update it with the Xcode and Android studio versions? At least for the src from https://www.ti.com/tool/WIFISTARTERPRO

Hey Will,

There have been no new updates to the WIFISTARTERPRO app. The reason for the difference between source versions and App/Play Store versions is due to source code OS adaptions made so the code can run on the IDE.

We recommend using the latest versions of Xcode and Android Studio for WIFISTARTERPRO. The customer may need to port parts of the code to the latest IDE platform, or use the provided libraries for compilation.

Hi Jacob,

If the newer versions don't include any improvements to the Wifi provision process, then that's alright to use the older source code.

With the older source code/project, I cannot even build the Xcode or Android Studio project. We don't mind installing older IDEs so we have a working example for reference while we develop our own. Could you help?

For example, your co-worker made some build instructions here, but they're outdated and don't work (eg. I installed Android Studio 2.3, but the TI app 2.2.257 is built with a newer IDE. You just need to tell me which IDE version (both Android Studio and Xcode) to match with your source code. Thanks

Android:

I installed Android Studio 3.3.1, opened the Android source code 2.2.257, however, I cannot build.

It seems that some critial files are missing. For example, the src\main\ doesn't have the java and res folders.

Hi Will,

Can you double check that your installation completed successfully? I tried downloading Android source v2.2.257 and I see src/main/java and src/main/res:

Perhaps Android studio is not correctly importing these files?

I found out that the Windows installer is ok (include all files), but the MacOS installer doesn't have all the files. I'll try later.

I haven't found a Xcode 12 to try iOS source code yet, but I'll report back.

Hi,

For the iOS example, I opened with Xcode 12.5, however, it builds with the following error. Any suggestions?

For the Android example, I opened with Android Studio 3.3.1, however, also have build errors. Any suggestions?

Hi Will,

For iOS, can you make sure there is no whitespace on that line? Also you may want to try cleaning and building the project.

For Android, I recommend reviewing the dependencies that you installed for WIFISTARTERPRO. There may be additional dependencies needed.

Xcode needs to update cocoapods, then it works even in 13.3.

Android should be a dependance problem too

Apparently, iOS 2.2.28 was never generated as a release. The baseline release is 2.2.26, which can be downloaded from TI.com.
