WL1805MOD: INTERFACE WLAN+BT COMBO MODULE QFM100 SMD/ MPN WL1805MODGBMOCR does not work on assembled product

Part Number: WL1805MOD

Hi Team,

Assembled products returned from end customer with problem: No MAC address inside WL1805MODGBMOCT

Affected LOT nr. L1314109PHI  1200 pcs

"Some of Date code aren’t with mac address inside the PCBAs and can’t  be assembled"

Material part numbers:WL1805MODGBMOCT

The Enics order number is 10401109647.15.

We propose to send some samples to you for investigation. Could you please check and answer the questions below:

  • where is exactly the mac address inside MPN?
  • what is the process flow and controls that the mac address are downloaded?
  • is it possible to delete it (if power alimentation failed , decrease or increase, ESD impact, or something else)?

the root cause of missing mac address isn't clarified.
Can you share with Schneider-Electric (me) the flow of the manufacturing process ?
(my email lionel.vincent@se.com)

When is the mac address uploaded ?
Can you help determine what may have erased the mac address inside WL1805MODGBMOCT ?
does this component have the ability to reset its factory configuration and lose its mac address?
is it temperature sensitive (e.g. high temperature level during reflow process)
can an impact on the case cause damage that would prevent the mac address from being read ?

Currently we have 215 pcs of blocked parts. When all failed parts are found/ replaced we can tell the final qty which we propose to send back to you for further analysis.

BR,

James
