CC3230SF: Migration guide

Part Number: CC3230SF
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3220SF, , UNIFLASH

WiFi team,

We have a customer looking at migrating from CC3220SF to CC3230SF.  Do we have a migration guide that will help them with this?  They are hoping for a drop in replacement.

It looks like it's pin-to-pin, based on a comment on the product page.  Can you confirm, and is there anything different needed in terms of the serial EEPROM?

Thanks,
Darren

  • If using uniflash or CCS to program the MCU image and/or secure files on the flash - this will be needed to be done when the right device is set.

CC3220 uses SHA1 while CC323x use sha 256 for signature. When programming the MCU image - the tool also appends the digest (SHA1/SHA256) to content of the image.

Both the signature and the appending of the digest are done seamlessly by the tools according to the device settings.

Other then this everything should just work.
