CC3200MOD: Programming Inconsistent and SOP Pulls

I'm having trouble with a custom board that uses a CC3200MOD. I have a pull down on the SOP2 and no pull resistors on either SOP0 or SOP1 as is recommended in the datasheet. However, sometimes programming through the UART port fails. I'm not sure what's going on. Are there different versions without the internal pull down resistors?

Hi Lou,

Do you have a 2.7k pull down on SOP2?

Do you have 100k pull up resistors on the UART pins, pins 46 and 47?

Hi Seong,

I do have a 2.7k pull down on SOP2. I do not have 100k pull ups on the UART. That wasn't clear in the datasheet. Could I put these off board between my board and the programmer?

Yes, I don't think it is clear in the datasheet. But they are shown in the CC3200MODLAUNCHXL reference design and mentioned in the HDW Design Checklist.

I would experiment and try whatever you can to implement the 100k pull up on the UART TX line and see if it makes any difference.
