LAUNCHXL-CC3235S: Connected with CC31XX/CC32XX Radio Tool (v1.0.3.19), but could not get details nor give commands

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC3235S
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH, CC3235S

Hi,

after several tries and reading forum threads, we are still not able to give commands to LAUNCHXL-CC3235S with Radio Tool. Board can be found, but details cannot be read.

We have tried to flash Service Pack and then radio tool binary, but no success. This is the latest we have tried with Uniflash :

- we have first erased board

- then flashed Service pack

- checked memory and flashed radio tool binary after Service pack (issue is that we don't know what are the exact memory addresses to used)

We cannot flash *.sli file as Uniflash does not recognize it.

Is there some ready made files that can be easily flashed?

We would app reciate fast response as we would need this working.

  • Hi,

If you are asking about address when you using Uniflash, it means that you are using Uniflash by wrong way (at wrong mode). Please see this.

  • Hi, I followed procedure in the link you provided.

    - image mode: Production mode

    - I used following MCU image : \TI\CC3xxx_RadioTool_1.0.3.19\Source Files\Source Projects\radiotool_CC3235S_LAUNCHXL_tirtos_ccs\MCU+Image\radiotool_CC3235S_LAUNCHXL_tirtos_ccs.bin

    - I used following service pack : \TI\simplelink_cc32xx_sdk_6_10_00_05\tools\cc32xx_tools\servicepack-cc3x35\sp_4.13.0.2_3.7.0.1_3.1.0.26.bin

Then chose "Program Image (Create & Program)". Now I could connect with CC31XX/CC32XX tool fine,

    Connection ok

but I have next issue. Rx commands are working fine, but when applying Tx command, it gives following error.

    Error

Do I have correct files while flashing?

  • Hi,

I think this is issue with GUI of utility itself not a flashed radio tool application (some exception related to conversion Sting to Int). I am not sure what can cause such issue. Maybe your OS or language preferences (Finnish). I have done test with 1.0.3.18 at Win 10 21H1 Pro Czech version and it worked without any issue.

At your screenshot is suspicious that MAC address have dots (.) instead of colons (:). Maybe you can try to change dots to colons.

  • Jukka,

You can also try the following:

    1) Locate the CC3235S SLI image in the Radio Tool directory -> Device Images -> CC3235S image

    2) Open Uniflash and click "Program Image"

    3) Browse the SLI image under "Image File Name".

    4) Click Program Image.

  • Hi Jan,

yes, issue was with Finnish localization/language preferences. Changed to English (US) and MAC address had colons (:).

    Thanks,

    Jukka

  • Hi Jukka,

Thank you for a update. It looks like bug inside RadioTool GUI utility (related to separator at Windows language preferences). This issue should be fixed by TI.
